Technology Update: Verbatim New Colorful Line of Micro USB

Friday, February 12, 2010

While flash memory is on the edge of advancement, USB flash drives have been getting smaller and smaller and are now at a stage where only the actual size of the USB port prevents them from shrinking any further. Verbatim is one manufacturer of such devices, even having a product line dubbed Micro USB. Now unveiling the second generation of such devices, Verbatim has released models that are small, capacious and vibrantly colorful.

The company has unveiled Micro USB drives that are just about as thin as a Euro coin. They employ a technology known as System-in-Package (SiP), which packs all the electronic components inside a sealed, strong casing, making the flash drives resistant to static discharges, water and dust. Models can store up to 32GB of data and their packaging uses up to 90% less plastic.

Verbatim Micro USB flash drives measure 30 (L) x 2 (H) x 12 (W) mm and weigh 1.2 grams. In addition, they come in a variety of colors, such as “Eucalyptus Green,” “Hot Pink,” “Caribbean Blue,” “Sun Kissed Yellow” and “Volcanic Orange.” Their storage capacities range between 2GB and 16GB, with an extra 32GB model soon to come. Well, check it out guys!
